До нас дошли и более древние письменные судебные отчёты, так называемые “Судейские свитки” (Plea Rolls), из которых самые ранние сохранившиеся датируются временем правления Ричарда I (1189–1199 гг.). Однако в традиции общего права начало истории судебных отчётов традиционно увязывается именно с “Ежегодниками”.

Историческая справедливость требует упомянуть Николаса Статхэма, барона казначейства в правление Эдуарда IV (1461–1470, 1471–1483 гг.), который первым приблизительно в 1470 г. собрал “извлечения” из “Ежегодников” разных лет; они были опубликованы около 1490 г.
